You have all your products for sale on your web site!

You have the best prices for your products on your web site!

Your products aren’t selling!

You can have the best web site in the world, with all the latest selling tools, payment options and the quickest delivery possible, but unless your prospective clients know where to find your web site, then you may as well not have gone to all that effort.

You can use email to drive clients to your web site with easy to use links and eyecatching graphics. You can send to multiple addresses with one easy click and you can control and edit your data base with your email client address book. This is an option that is gradually becoming less effective as a “cold call” selling tool as most email clients software are very effective at weeding out “spam”, but also it is so easy to delete unwanted mail without even glimpsing the message.

The alternative is to use print as an introduction to your product, service or web site. Print still has a hold on peoples imagination and conveys so much more through touch, texture and print finishes such as varnishes and cutouts.

What about mail getting junked? At least with a printed card or leaflet, it will be looked at and handled before it reaches the bin. An email can be junked without seeing any content at all.

This jumble of little square dots provides transport for mobile devices to your website, instant address cards for your phone or any other manner of electronic information.

If you are not familiar with the QR code it is becoming more commonplace printed on posters, business cards, leaflets or direct mail pieces. All you need to do is scan the QR code with your smartphone camera and you are taken on a whole new digital experience.

In its simplest terms, for the business user, it is another tool in your marketing arsenal to communicate with your customers and drive business.

But will this new wonder of our digital communication age enhance your business marketing or is it just a gimick that will leave the user feeling disappointed.

The first thing to consider before entering into the QR code web is where the little square will take your audience and will it be worth their while?

To read QR codes your smartphone has to have reader software installed. At the moment QR Readers are not pre-installed on new phones or mobile devices. Therefore your potential audience has to want to find a version from the numerous downloads available, and make the effort to get them installed and set up.

If your audience has gone to this effort you have to make sure that it is worth their while. It is very easy to create a dissapointing experience.

The first thing to consider is where the QR will lead to.

If you are using it on your business cards or similar to simply provide contact information, you must make sure that this information is complete and will be formatted in a way that most address books will be able to use.

Will the QR code take your potential client to a personalised or other micro web site?

The most important decision here is to ensure that the web experience is going to be a pleasant and informative one by making sure that this site is compatible with mobile devices. This will entail correct coding for use on mobile browsers, that the content is easy to view in small scale and the file sizes are small enough to be transferred over a mobile connection.

Following the decision that you are going to use QR codes as part of your marketing strategy, the next best practice is to test and measure your destinations to ensure that your codes are working for you.

We have been delighted to create the new corporate branding for Dollys.

The logo was created to fit in with an overall theme of pale greys and blues that would follow through with new decor in the shop. A touch of red gave the overall design a little punch to help attract the eye. The girls at Dollys have been really pleased and we wish them every success with their new venture.
